Gospeleon is operated by [Company Name] ("Gospeleon", "we", "us"). We respect your privacy and only collect what we need to run an African Christian music streaming service, an online store, and an artist payout system. This page explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Email address, display name, and password (stored hashed).
- For artists: phone number, date of birth, and bank-account details used for royalty payouts.
- If you sign in with Google: the email, name, and profile picture Google returns.
Activity you generate on the platform
- Streams, purchases, follows, playlists, newsletter subscriptions, and support requests.
- Basic device info (browser, OS, approximate location from IP) for security and analytics.
Payment information
Card and bank details for subscriptions and digital-store purchases are handled by Paystack. Gospeleon never sees or stores full card numbers.
2. How we use your information
- To run your account (authentication, email verification, password resets).
- To deliver streaming and download access you've paid for.
- To pay artists their share of earnings and issue tax/compliance records when required.
- To send transactional emails (purchase receipts, subscription reminders) and, if you've opted in, our newsletter.
- To prevent fraud, detect abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To measure product usage in aggregate so we can improve the service.
3. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that power Gospeleon:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Paystack — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Resend — transactional emails and newsletters.
- Google — only if you choose Google sign-in.
- Meta Pixel — aggregate ad performance measurement on our marketing pages.
- Law-enforcement or courts — only when legally required.
Each provider is contractually required to protect your data and use it only to deliver their service to us.
4. Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, to remember your cart, and for basic analytics. See our Cookie Policy for the full list and how to opt out.
5. Data retention
- Active accounts: we keep your data for as long as your account exists.
- Deleted accounts: we purge personal data within 30 days, except for records we must keep for tax, fraud, or legal-compliance reasons (typically 6 years).
- Payment records: retained for 6 years as required by Nigerian tax law.
6. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you — email us and we'll send an export within 30 days.
- Correct inaccurate information from your account settings.
- Delete your account and personal data (subject to the retention exceptions above).
- Opt out of newsletters using the unsubscribe link in every email or via your account settings.
- Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
If you're in the European Economic Area, UK, or a jurisdiction with comparable laws (e.g. Nigeria's NDPR), you also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
7. Children
Gospeleon is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email us at support@gospeleon.comand we'll delete it.
8. Security
Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing. Data in transit is encrypted over HTTPS. Card data is tokenised by Paystack and never stored on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and let us know immediately if you suspect your account has been compromised.
9. Changes to this policy
We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever this policy changes. For material changes (e.g. new categories of data, new sharing partners), we'll also email you or show a banner in the app before the change takes effect.
