DMCA / Copyright Policy

Last updated: April 30, 2026

Gospeleon respects intellectual-property rights and expects its users and artists to do the same. If you believe content on Gospeleon infringes your copyright, please follow the process below. We act on valid notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") and comparable Nigerian and international copyright frameworks.

1. Filing a takedown notice

Send a written notice to legal@gospeleon.com including all of the following:

  1. Your full legal name, address, phone number, and email.
  2. A clear identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed (title, artist, catalogue number, ISRC if available).
  3. The exact URL(s) on Gospeleon where the infringing material appears.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on behalf of the owner.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Incomplete notices slow us down. We usually remove or disable access to clearly infringing content within 2 business days and notify the uploading artist.

2. Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that you have rights to use the material, you can file a counter-notice. Email legal@gospeleon.com with:

  1. Your full legal name, address, phone number, email, and physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the removed material and the URL where it appeared.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal Court of Nigeria (or, if you're outside Nigeria, the courts of your place of residence) and that you will accept service from the original complainant.

We'll forward your counter-notice to the original complainant. If they don't file a legal action within 10 business days, we will normally restore the material.

3. Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts of artists or users who repeatedly upload infringing content. "Repeatedly" typically means three valid, separate notices within 12 months — but we reserve the right to terminate after a single severe violation.

4. Bad-faith claims

Filing a knowingly false takedown notice or counter-notice is illegal under U.S. and Nigerian law and may expose you to damages, including our legal costs. Don't do it.
